Creative house mimoid.inc is going to publish LIMEN vol.1, an anthology of animation artists, as a first step of our publishing activities.

mimoid inc. is a creative house based in Tokyo and Amsterdam. works on direction and production through various approaches, including animation, motion graphics and live action.

LIMEN means threshold in Latin.

We set the theme "Visualizing the Threshold in Animation" and asked artists, creators and animators who play an active role in the animation scene around the world to create a pair of still images with the word "two-frames animations" and create this book.

We would be happy if you feel like "reading" high-quality short animated films. Also, “limen” means a door. So, We wish this book would be a door to new animation world for you.

 

クリエイティブスタジオmimoidは、出版活動の第一弾として、アニメーション作家によるアンソロジー「LIMEN vol.1」を出版します。

さて、「LIMEN」とは？--ラテン語で「閾値」という意味の単語です。

私たちは「アニメーションにおける閾値の視覚化」をテーマに、”2フレームアニメーション”という言葉を用いて、世界各地で活躍するアーティスト／クリエイター／アニメーターに声をかけ、2フレームの静止画作品を描いてもらい1冊の本にまとめました。

この本を読みながら、質の高い短編アニメーションを”読んで”いる感覚になってもらえたら嬉しいです。

また、「LIMEN」には、戸口、という意味もあります。あなたにとって、この本が、新たなアニメーションの世界への入り口となりますよう！
